XXXTENTACION Type Beat – “Roses”

Solow or Sounds Needs To Talk,  dropped this beat a couple days ago but I just found it and it stands out. I can’t pinpoint what it reminds me of but its heavily creative and if you like beats with samples in them you’ll f*ck with this beat heavy.

Interview + 5 beats with prod. by Morteh

It keeps happening, I keep seeing people liking my content on IG and Twitter. This time, Twitter specifically, which is rare. But I saw this account I didn’t know kept retweeting and liking some of my stuff and when I went on the profile and saw it was the producer Morteh. I was pretty geeked. Not going to lie. You may or may not know who he is but I been seeing him on YouTube for a minute.  I reached out to him through DM and he agreed to do an interview. Scroll down to find out more and check out some of his beats available!

Credits?

  • Egovert – Van gogh & #LetEGOFUCK.
  • Got some stuff coming with WiFisFuneral & Roy Purdy soon.

How old are you? I am 17.

Funniest reason/excuse a rapper ever gave you for not having the money for a beat on time? I never really have anyone not paying on time as I require the payment upfront. Although, I get people in my DMs regularly asking to buy then I never hear from them again – As well as the odd one who says, ‘’hold onto the beat until next month, I gotchu’’.
Where are you from?  I am from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
BEATPACKS
How long have you been producing? Why/How did you get into it? I’ve been producing properly for 6 months-ish. What really got me into producing actually started out as me wanting to become a rapper. Then I realised how hard it is to blow up on that side of the industry so I started producing.

What’s the dopest thing to happen to you since you started making music and releasing product? The dopest thing that’s happened is getting messages from huge artists saying they fuck with my sound. Acknowledgement is the best feeling.

Who are your biggest influences? My biggest producing influence 100% has to be Ronny J. He is unbelievably underrated for the amount of work he does.
Want to give any shoutouts? Shoutout Egovert and the entirety of $$.
What do you find is the best platform or avenue of selling your beats? Youtube or Traktrain. I kinda abandoned my traktrain, so youtube is where its at for me.
What is something about you people would be surprised to know? Probably that I’m from Northern Ireland.

Whats your process for making a beat? It all depends. Usually I’ll spend a good chunk of the cook-up searching for / making the melody. But once I get that out of the way, I just go ham on the drums.

What do your beats normally cost? It all depends once again. I like helping the smaller artists out by working with prices that’s more suitable for them. But on average, 75-200$.
What is the most you have made from one beat? Currently 200$

Any stories on how you got some of your placements? Not really any cool ones, but the Roy Purdy one was weird. He messaged me at like 4am trying to buy my ‘’Beetlejuice’’ beat.

What Hardware or software do you use? is there any reason why you like to particularly use what you use? I use FL & FL only. It was the first DAW I ever tried. Ever since I got it, I’ve fallen in love with it. I don’t see myself ever switching over to any other DAW, ever.

How many leases or beats do you think you sold in 2017?
What are your plans for 2018?Hit 20k on youtube and get more placements.

Whose gonna be the new wave? Me & Egovert without a doubt. Mark my words.

How old are you?: 16
Funniest reason/excuse a rapper ever gave you for not having the money for a beat on time?: Honestly, I haven’t had experiences like this because I require a 100% deposit before I even make the beat, but a bunch of people hit me up for beats and we talk it out, then they say they’ll pay, and I never here from them again.  If you’re like that, you a bitch.
Where are you from?: I’m from Shreveport, Louisiana, but I live in Sylvania, Ohio, which is a suburb of Toledo.  I’ve been living here for a little over a year, but I’m actually moving back to Shreveport in about 2 weeks, on March 24th.
How long have you been producing? Why/How did you get into it?: I’ve been producing for about a year and a half.  I got into it because I’ve always been interested in the how melodies were made, and just what goes through a producers mind while making a beat, so I tried for myself and fell in love with it.
What’s the dopest thing to happen to you since you started making music and releasing product?:  The dopest thing to happen to me since I started producing was actually getting recognition and having people listening to me.  Getting money is pretty cool though too.
Who are your biggest influences?:  Ronny J and Pierre Bourne are probably my biggest influences producer wise.
Want to give any shoutouts?: Shoutout to loveliveserve and Eric North for giving me my first “big” placements!  I produced half of Eric North’s “D_U2kPSYCHO (2018)” album which features Sybyr on a beat I produced.  Also shoutout all the artists and producers from the 318, like Branham, LilVan$, Raid, JVLIXN, Hecti, and many more.
What do you find is the best platform or avenue of selling your beats?:  For me, selling leases for beats on Traktrain is really good, but for selling exclusives, doing business through E-mail is best, in my opinion.
Whats your process for making a beat?:  For my “Ronny J” style beats, I just find a super simple, grungy sounding melody, then I bring in some very distorted drums.
What do your beats normally cost?: Leases are normally around $15, and exclusives are in the $70-200 price range, but I work with budgets.
What is the most you have made from one beat?: As of now, $200 is the most I’ve made off of one beat.
Any stories on how you got some of your placements?: I got my Eric North placements because he rapped over one of my type beats, and the song blew up.  I hit him up on Twitter to see if he wanted any more beats and he told me to send him a couple because he was making an album, and the album came out the next day. Another story is when, Loveliveserve randomly used my old “Lil Pump – Flex Like Ouu Instrumental remake” and didn’t credit me.  I got mad on Twitter, then we cleared it up and have kept in touch for the last few months.  Noah Boat randomly dropped two bangers with my type beats on Youtube.
What Hardware or software do you use? is there any reason why you like to particularly use what you use?:  I use FL Studio because that is what I’m most comfortable with, but I want to experiment with Abelton Live.  I also have a Blue Snowball iCE microphone and an Alesis V49 Midi keyboard.
How many leases or beats do you think you sold in 2017?: I would not be able to tell you how many leases I’ve sold, but I’ve sold 10 exclusive beats.
What are your plans for 2018?:  My plans for 2018 are to grow my following on social media, start getting more and bigger placements, and making more BANK.

Who do you think will part of the new wave in 2018? (producer wise and rapper wise):  I feel like Comethazine and Wifisfuneral are gonna get a lot of buzz this years.  Producer wise, I’m gonna be part of the new wave.
