It’s purely coincidental that my last two interviews, including this one, I have published have been with producers that have Fredo Santana (R.I.P.) credits. Sometimes that’s just how life works but anyways BeatPlugg Two is a producer I found first on YouTube and was reminded again of on Twitter. I reached out to do an interview and he was down.
In this interview he goes into detail about his most expensive beat sale, his journey, how he got that Fredo credit and more!
Fetty Wap – 10 bitches on 95, Rich The Kid – Push Start, Fredo Santana – Trapper of The Year, Skippa Da Flippa – Up To Par, Skooly – I’m Having, Lotto Savage – Moral of The Story, Lil Dred – It’s Ok To Cry Sometimes, Sonny Digital & Diego Money – Jugg
How old are you? 26
Funniest reason/excuse a rapper ever gave you for not having the money for a beat on time? “I gotta run over some numbers real quick with my manager.” *Never heard back from them lol.
Where are you from? Hollywood, FL (Broward County)
How long have you been producing? Why/How did you get into it? I’ve been producing since 2013, I was rapping in my dorm room my junior year in college and decided to make my own beats and It started from there.
When did you know you made it? or that this could be an actual career for you?
2015 when I got my first placement with fetty wap on “10 bitches on 95.” That was motivation for me; it was then that I knew I could fit in the industry with my work and that I could make some serious money.
Can you tell us about (me and the readers) the coolest, or most satisfying, OR the most expensive beat sale, you’ve ever done? I’m not going to cap I once sold exclusive rights to one of my beats through my airbit beats store $1,800
Who are your biggest influences? I came into this music game inspired by producers Zaytoven, Mannie Fresh, Timberland, and artist Gucci Mane, Young Scooter, Thug, and Future
Want to give any shoutouts?
Yeah shout out to curatedflame.com
for this interview first of all, and shout out to my new producer group “Plugghouse” @bankheadprod @10keys_drumstatic on ig
What do you find is the best platform or avenue of selling your beats? and why? Youtube & Instagram because so many people use those apps daily and I get most of my attention and new customers from them.
Do you have any other income streams besides crafting instrumentals? like, do you sell shoutouts or do you also song write, or write books, etc? I also sell beat tags seeing that I made the “Plugg!” beat tag a lot of producers always hit me up for something similar. And I also Record my very own music here at my home.
What is something about you people would be surprised to know? I recently became fully self-employed only 3 weeks ago, I used to work at Walmart and do security at a few joints in Atlanta.
Whats your process for making a beat? I like to start off with the lighting of my black & mild lol, it helps me stay calm and relaxed, then I start off with a drum pattern, I may drop a hook and then delete it once I add all of the sounds for the melody or! I may just start with a melody and add the drums one by one and then format the track.
What do your beats normally cost?
for exclusive beats that aren’t on my site,
the leases are $150, Exclusive Rights $1,000. For Beats On My website (beatpluggtwo.com
) leases are $30, exclusive rights $500.
Any stories on how you got some of your placements? For Fredo Santana’s “Trapper of The Year” I literally had just dm’d him because I saw he was doing a tape called “Plugged In.” So I told him he had to throw the real Plugg on there and he sent back his cell # and email. He was one of the coolest guys to work with (God rest his soul.)
What Hardware or software do you use? is there any reason why you like to particularly use what you use? I have always used FL studio since the Soulja Boy days because it was so easy to understand, now i’m a master at it. It runs smooth and a lot of my producer buddies use it.
what are your plans for 2018? I plan on getting a big bag this year! I feel like this year could very well be mines to blow up and finally get the recognition I deserve.
Who do you think will part of the new wave in 2018? (producer wise and rapper wise)
Me of course, and I see the homie @1wayfrank making some noise this year, we have some really dope music in the chamber. I think Rich The Kid has been making a lot of noise also, s/o to Rich.
