Sean Bentley is a producer on YouTube putting in serious work. His channel boasts 34K + subscribers and over 12.48 Million views. Now typically when I find a producer with the amount of views he has, I find that they have at least 1 or 2 beat videos that account for a good amount of their total views. For example, I just released an interview with DIZP, who has 5.1 million views but one of his videos has 1.3 million of those views, which means 1 of his videos accounts for basically 25% of his total views.
Where Sean Bentley differs from that example and a lot of other producers I have interviewed, is that his top beat video only accounts for 2.6% of his total views. I think this is dope because that means he has to be uploading a lot of beats to YouTube. Which Sean Bentley definitely is, YouTube states that he has 995 videos on his channel. I personally think that is awesome, that his views are diversified because I see it as he’s potentially bringing in a lot of customers from different pieces of content. Which I suggest to any producers on the come up, they should pay mind to this. Yeah its amazing to get a video with 6 figures or higher but you also want to make sure that its not the only reason your page has so many views.

How old are you? I’m 27 years old.
Anything funny or crazy ever happen in this game we call rap? Craziest thing that happened to me was probably getting an email back from chief keef telling me to send more beats, but his inbox was full so I wasn’t able to ever send more.
Where are you from? I currently live in the Boston area.
How long have you been producing? Why/How did you get into it? Been about 11 years since I first started making beats, I originally started making them so I would have something to rap on and now I don’t even rap anymore I just make beats.
What’s the dopest thing to happen to you since you started making music and releasing product? The dopest thing that happened to me is that I’m able to make money off something I love to do.
Who are your biggest influences? why? When I first started making beats I really looked up to SuperStarO because he seemed to be someone that came from nothing and built his own path so id say he’s my biggest influence.
What do you find is the best platform or avenue of selling your beats? For me my best way of selling beats is a combination of Youtube & the Airbit website.
Do you have any other income streams? Currently all my income is from music.
What is something about you people would be surprised to know? Probably that I’m 6’5” when people see me They’re always commenting on how tall I am lol.
Whats your process for making a beat? It’s different every time for me, usually I like to start with some chords and melodies then start adding drums.
What do your beats normally cost? I typically charge $200 for exclusive rights to a beat.
What is the most you have made from one beat? I sold a custom beat for $500 once when I first started producing.
Any stories on how you got some of your placements? Most of my placements I was unaware of until I heard them.
What Hardware or software do you use? is there any reason why you like to particularly use what you use? I use Fl Studio 11 just because I’m so familiar with it I never felt like switching or upgrading to Fl studio 12.
How many leases or beats do you think you sold in 2017? In 2017 I’d say I sold well over 200 beats not sure on exact numbers though.
What are your plans for 2018? My plans for 2018 is just to work harder then I did in 2017. More beats and hopefully more placements.
Who do you think will part of the new wave in 2018? (producer wise and rapper wise) Right now my favorite producer is CashmoneyAp I definitely see him continuing his success in 2018 & as far as rappers NBA Youngboy seems to be blowing up im digging his music right now.
What does youtube monetization look like for you can you give number examples? I’m not sure what the dollar to view ratio is honestly but the most ive made in a month from YouTube views was somewhere over $600.
