Early in December, a rising artist named Lil Mosey released a track called Pull Up that has currently 1.3 million views as of the writing of this article. I loved theee beat so I had to find out who produced it and see if I could score an interview with them. And I did!

Below you can check out the song “Pull Up” that started all this, the interview with Hip Hop Producer Black Mayo, and

Major Credits? Lil Mosey “Pull Up” Ugly God “KLK” (MAYBE IF HE RELEASES THE SONG…)

Want to give any shoutouts? shoutout to my mom, shoutout to my manager Hef, shoutout to Izak, shoutout 904Tezzo
What is something about you people would be surprised to know?  i deadass used to try and do gaming on my youtube before i started making beats. i had like 400 subs from that. and i used to edit call of duty videos. I wanted to be in FaZe lol.
Whats your process for making a beat? sit down and let the magic happen. melodies first, everything else after.
What do your beats normally cost? $30 for mp3 lease, $50 for wav lease, $80 for untagged wav lease, $250 for trackout lease, $400 for exclusives. probably going to raise them soon

Any story or stories on how you secured some of your placements? not really anything interesting. i just put most of em on youtube and people started flocking. i dont even advertise.
Do you use Hardware or software? software Fl Studio. i got an akai mpk mini piano tho as well.

How many leases or beats, do you think you have sold in your career? Alot. I cant even keep count anymore haha. But soon imma have to really taking that into record because Ill have to start paying taxes and stuff like that for being self employed and stuff. Its crazy.

what are your plans for 2018? LOTS of songs with LOTS of the poppin artists. Really want to work with Famous Dex, Playboi Carti, Ugly God, Rich The Kid, Jay Critch, LilBoom, Lil Uzi, Lil Yachty, Trippie Redd, Pierre Bourne. Pretty much just want to get out there even more. Have my shit on the radios. I dont care about fame too much really, I just want to make music and make money.

Do you receive royalties from any of your beats? Can you get into a little detail about this for the younger producers? to all you young producers, register your beats with bmi or some type of shit like that so that you can get royalties. and dont be too quick to collab with some of the bigger mainstream producers if they happen to hit your line. 8/10 times theyll try and steal your shit pretty much and not give you credits. same guy tried to do that to me and my friend Izak (another yt producer on the come up) Industry, and just alot of people doing this music stuff in general arent always sweet. watch your back, read contracts carefully. Just take care of yourself, or find someone trustworthy like a manager or something who can help you out.
