How old are you?

I’m 16, turning 17 in October.

Where are you from?

I was born in London, England and moved to New York at a young age. I come from a Jamaican family though.

Hardware or software?what kind?

I’ve tried many DAWs before I could find what I really liked. I’ve used FL Studio, Cubase, Abelton and Maschine. Abelton is what I feel most comfortable with, but I still use Maschine from time to time. I’m also currently teaching myself bass and can’t wait to add that to my production.

How long have you been producing?

I started posting beats online in June of 2015. But, I’ve been playing around with production since around early 2014.

What advise would you give to aspiring producers?

Honestly, just make what you enjoy. It’s really easy to be pressured in to making what’s hot at the moment. But, you’ll always make your best work when you’re enjoying yourself.

What’s the dopest thing to happen to you since you started making music and releasing product?

Whenever I get a comment/message from a producer I listen to, I get a little hype. It’s always just dope to get praise from other artist/producers that you enjoy. Whenever anybody shows love it’s dope, but especially when it’s from somebody you respect musically.

Who are your biggest influences?

I’m definitely leaving some people out but, these are a couple off the top of the head. J Dilla, Madlib, 9th Wonder, Apollo Brown, Pharrel Williams, Alchemist, Kanye West, and pretty much just anybody who’s an innovator.

Want to give any shoutouts?

Shout out to my boy Ibrahima. He’s into all different kinds of music and always pushing me to be more creative in my own production. My beats would probably sound a lot different if it wasn’t for him. Also, anybody that listens to and supports my music in anyway. They never go underappreciated.

What is something about you people would be surprised to know?

Given my age, people might be surprised to know that I still collect vinyl. There’s just a special feeling when you find a gem on a rare record and you know that you’re one of the only people to own it.
My collection is at about 300+ right now, but I’m looking to add a lot more.

What do your beats normally cost?

$15 for an MP3 Lease
$25 for a WAV Lease
$50 for a WAV Lease w/ track stems.
$200 – 400 for exclusive rights (Depending on the beat)

Who has been your favorite artist to produce for?

Probably Gio. He has a song called “R3AL” with one of my beats and he killed it. I usually don’t listen to my own music but I have that track in my rotation.

How many leases or beats, do you think you have sold in your career?

Honestly, I have no idea. It’s not a crazy amount, but hopefully many more in the future.

Whats the most youve made off one beat?

$450 so far.
